I have never fished with the Diawa, but I do own a Cruxis. It is lightweight and low profile. I can throw plastics all day long on a 6'6" rod and never get tired. The cost is around $100 and the Shimano are proven in saltwater conditions. I get very good casting distances as well. The Cruxis did have some problems when they first came out. The problem has been fixed now. I have one of the newer versions and have not had any problems and I use it at least 4 times a month. It has become my prefered reel.
