Any new report out of POC? I know the tides are still way high, but the fishies have to be somewhere.

To answer my own question, (lol) reds were runnin in the mouths of shallow cuts feeding little back lakes. Found some action working the edge of the intracoastal (grass and guts) with shrimp under a cork using the trolling motor. Cross reef produced a mixed bag of reds and trout Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, the gas wells in West Matagorda bay produced the remainder of 2 limits (15) of trout. Jacks were also present at the wells. Water was glass calm and tropical green. Visibility at the wells was at least 6'.

We ended up hooking tons of Reds, but kept six of the smaller fish (18inchers) for the frying pan.

Try the back lakes around the fish pond or lighthouse, the reds are tight to grass (shallow) and fishing the run-outs with mud/shell on outgoing tide might get a flounder or two as well.
