Well, decided to pick up the Back Country in PA and head to POC to meet a friend of mine I havent fished with in a while. My intentions were to pole and find the schools of reds lurking the shorelines and back lakes. Friday, in PA the tide was about 1.5 ft high. Anyway, we decided to wade all day Sat and half day Sun. We focused on mud and grass due to the water temp drop, and chilly north wind. It payed off pretty well. Saturday we caught 50 or 60 dink trout, 10-20 small reds, and kept 8 trout/3 reds for dinner. Today we caught just as many small fish and boxed 4 trout and 1 nice red. Today we had some brain farts with a couple breakoffs, pulled hooks, and a couple keepers lost at hand. Norteast wind was pumping Sat 15-20 mph and today at LEAST that. It was a great weekend to start fall fishing, and the crowds werent too bad. Oh, fish were caught on bull minnows in the Margarita color waist deep. (couldnt find any shallow water!)
