Looked for tarpon in the usual places on Sunday, nothing but herd after herd of jacks.

Hit the water at daylight on Monday, passed school after school of tailing reds on the way to the tarpon, finally could'nt resist them anymore. Busted a few on fly and then took off in search of bigger fish. Ran out to the middle of the bay and drifted amongst large schools of mendaden looking for tarpon, did not see or hook any on large swim baits after 30 minutes.Trout were working the pogies, so threw my favorite topwater out and would'nt you know hooked a small tarpon about 48" for several jumps. Rigged a larger rod with topwater and nothing. Left the area once the jacks moved.
Fished some points and caught trout and reds for three hours staight, tired of that so went back to tarpon. Drifted differant areas because of tidal change, jacks still everywhere. The tide was ripping out against the wind keeping me from drifting. Motored up to a point off of a deepwater flat to get into position, saw four large fish holding on the point into the current. First cast was short, second cast was too close...blew them out. Fished live bait for another hour and jumped some blacktips, gave it up around three o'clock.
