i ran into a major problem with my stradic a few days ago. i took my reel apart to do a deep clean, like so many time before, but this time when i put it all back together it sound like the pinion and drive gears are not flush, and so it make a grinding noise. i notice my handle shank is still loose after i have tighten it all the way. can this be the problem and how do i fix it? pleasssse help cause this is my most favorite and lucky reel.

The gears develop a wear pattern that needs to be maintained. It sounds like you might have lost a shim on the main gear creating excessive play. You might end up having to send the reel to us so we can replace the gears and start over.

In the future leave the gears as they are and clean around them and apply grease to the teeth with a brush. This way you will never distrub the wear pattern. If you absolutely have to remove the gears I suggest marking them with a scribe or permanent marker so you can line them up correctly.
