Wow! Thats bad. This is the pic that freaks me out. The beach is now allmost to the cell tower.
Look close; they have shored up a dam so to speak where the Gulf actually connected with the Bay.
Made Treasure Island an actual island for a while.

I drove it Weds at low tide and was able to make it from Surfside startin at Sams Pier all the way past Surfhenge and almost up to the car bodies......had a few rivulets to cross...but not too dee.....but on the way back at high tide.....too deep and wide.

Now is the time for all dudes with 4WD drive vehicles to justify to their wives the need for a 4x4.

the skeeters weren't bad....but the biting flies were ruthless....horseflies and zillions of little black flies.

....but i think yer gonna like how the beach looks....mighty clean and wide

....and this is where they put the blue water in Bluewater highway

this is where i chickened out crossin near the car bodies

....and the slab abides

I wonder what the plans are now for Pointe West development?

http://www.pointewestgalveston.com/pw_siteplan.pdf
I know a lot of folks were skeptical about the development here.....but if you ever take a close look at how they did contsruction......places are preety stout....score one for technology. Of coarse the 1st floors were washed away....but thats how they're designed.

I think this area is about where the dunes got seeded by impaling Christmas tree's......hard to get your bearings down there.....We might wanna try a Plan B.....seems like Salt Cedars is the way to go.
