why/how would water get in to the hulls, both sides? there are drain plugs so this must be part of the hull design, but it seems to be a closed system, hull wash down does not allow for water penetration....

If you have a water pressure gauge, it is possible that the tubing from the outboard to the gauge on the console has split and the outboard is pumping water in to the hull whenever the motor is running. Happened to me once and several others that I know of. Good luck.

Fill the sides with water and see where it runs out with it on the trailer. Livewell Fills and Drains are a likely cause.
