Glad to see more people recovering and fishing since the storms.Between these storms and politics it's enough to drive a man crazy! It looks like mother nature is going to play nice starting this weekend and it should be on. I had my Contender in the shop for a little tlc and picked her up yesterday and she is ready to roll. I have added another boat to the fleet and will be offering inshore trips in addition to offshore. The new bayboat is a 24ft Ranger bay with all the goodies you would want. I ran a trip this past saturday in Cocodrie to test the waters and the boat. Had keith lier and friends aboard and finished up with 40 trout plus redfish in four hours of fishing in the wind and muddy water. Cococdrie seemed fine and alot of work was going on.I will have the lyle group on thursday for a little venice redfishing, should be good despite the wind. I have this weekend open if anyone wants to kill some tuna. With the lack of pressure and abundance of bait the tuna fishing should be outstanding. I will be running my offshore and inshore trips out of venice marina due to lack of power and accomodations in Grand Isle.

Easy boys - it does take a little getting use to.
Don't take his head off too fast.

$1000 is a WHOLE lot of money to some folks if they can't get a few buddies to split the costs.

I now have my own boat again, but I would gladly pay $1000 to go with Angler1 if I needed to though.

We all need to SERIOUSLY consider making lemonade out of lemons. There is a truck load of floating debris out there - I would call Eugene and get out there to hit the Ling, Do-dos and Triple Tail before the cold gets here.

Thats the going rate, nothing wrong with that. If u can't afford it stick to catching hard heads in the bay.

And know what you're talking about before you **** on someones thread.

Wow, i see i stepped on some toes. I'll make a note of that and be sure not to voice an oppinion. Chasethis & jfreeman , what a touch of class with your input also.
Know what you're talking about before you voice an opinion and you won't get those type of responses. I've always been told i was a very classy guy, so thanks for the compliment.

Implied some sort of jacked up price due to the storms... rhetoric.

Simple lesson to be learned here... don't spit on someone's passion just because they are willing spend whatever it takes to get their blue water fix. You should really feel sorry for them, it is an addiction with a 12 step recovery program. 1st step is to go as often as possible to understand the demon... the 2nd step,

well... none of us have ever really made it past the first step.

yes they are proud of the fishery at Venice.
Even if it is hit or miss-just like everywhere else.
yes offshore fishing is expensive.
yes venice is more expesive than most in the continental US.
yes, there are other places to go.
yes, you get to decide whether to go there or not. sounds like not.
no harm-no foul

If he didn't have anything positive to say about the thread, then he should have just left it alone. That's the point. I would never type something like that, these guys make there living off of fishing.

Okay I'm done.

I know for a fact you don't always have to have something positive to say about a thread. I don't know how many times I've read statements from others who didn't agree with my opinion or advice and I have been blasted for saying or writing it. I have tried posting some info to help others on here and just because some individual doesn't agree with me, instead of ignoring the comment and moving on they choose to get on their soap box and give me the third degree. I usally just try to ignore those pepole and move on. The people I have helped have justifed the end results. I wished everyone could be more tolerant of each others opinions etc. on this board. :headknock

You can get a limo for about $80 per hour, why does $80 per hour for a charter raise an eyebrow? How much is a 36 Contender.... $250-300K? Make a note on that bad boy! Then add insurance, storage, cleaning, maintenance, tackle, bait, and everything else that goes with running a charter
