I headed out to go fishing this morning and never got to the jetties(fortunately). I was having a little throttle response prob so I decided to change out my fuel filters, then after putting it back together the darn thing would not start. I ran into Zack H at about this time at Woodys dock, nice boat btw. I got it started and idled back to the dock because it was stahling. Pulled it out of the water and dragged it to Island One Marine and they suprisingly enough immediately came out and helped me with the prob at 7am, Thanks a bunch. Anyhow, I got back on the water and ended up having intermittent power failure. Kind of like having air in the injection system. So I turned it back around fearing the worst if I tried to make it out deep. I dropped it off at Ronnies and they told me it was most likely my O2 sensor so I went ahead and left it down there with them fellas for a tuneup. I have never left my boat there before so I hope they dont gouge me too bad. They are and have been in the past very friendly and nice service ppl. Anyone have experience with them? I took the extra time I had and wondered around Roys, They are very expensive in their pricing, I will stick to online shopping. Anyhow, I chalk today up to having to pay some dues for having 12 or more trouble free offshore trips.

Man that sux that you couldn't get out today but I guess the bright side is that the problem started when you were close to the dock. Would hate to think how much of a pain it would have been had you been in the middle of the Gulf when that happened.
Let me know how the people at Ronnie's treat ya'. I need to get my mortor tuned as well and was thinking about using them. Are they going to do a rush job for you so you can get on the water tomorrow?

Well I had a great day around the opener and was heading in with about 15 miles to go. My RPMs started dropping and I found my bulb compressed. Put someone on squeeze duty for the last 14 miles and made it in. Found out the screens on both of my pick-up lines coming out of the tank had plugged off. Removed the screens and she purrs now.

I'm be down that way the week of July 30th. Maybe a buddy boat or a trip with me, if she's not fixed yet. (Hopefully not jinxing you)

No Rush on the job on my end, that means it will be done quickly. They did not seem too busy though. I am going out on monday in my buddies boat from mansfield and dont plan on a trip in my boat untill 11 or 12th if it is done. I never rush mechanic shops though.

I have never used Ronnies, but have never heard anything bad about them. Some good buddies always use them and they have always had nothing but very good things to say about them. BTW, the Boat Stop next door to Ronnies is good too. I dropped my boat off on a Friday afternoon at 1PM and was able to get them to do the work that day! They stayed and worked on it until 6PM that day (it did cost mucho $$, but it was worth it to have the boat back for the weekend).

Do you make alot of solo runs out deep? I usually end up with it being me and that guy that you met hanging out in my boat today while I was getting the fuel filters. I like to at least have one rider with me to help toss a line to the rigs or pull up the anchor. of course I got one of those anchor bouys now so I dont have to worry about that kind of labor any more.

Fish alot solo in the bays, and on calm days ill fish the anchorage, stand pipes, and some other rigs w/in sight of land solo, but that was in a different, smaller, boat. I just bought the boat I was in today a few weeks back, so havent had much time to use it. But like you said, it is nice to have an anchor man.

I've delt with Boat Stop and they are decent people, I've NOT heard anything bad about Roonies either.

Well what I can say is the Service Manager at Ronnie's not sure what location is a great guy. His name is Kerry he used to be the Yamaha Technical Rep. He is very good and I think this man knows everything there is to know about a Yami. So if he is still there or whatever I'm sure you will not have a problem he is good people.
