Does anyone know the monthly pay rate for a 1st LT in the Army. I assume the rate is the same or similar across the Branches.

Shouldn't that read "are" hazardous. Lets not even bring up 2nd LT's. :rotfl:

Not reenlisting Iron Mike. My coworker was wondering what his daughters husband was making. He is a 1st Looey with orders to Afganistan. He is going to put a little something into their account to help them along.

2nd Looey's were my favorite....did you ever salute one with the left hand....man that messed em up everytime!!! lmao!!!

I just googled the military pay rate. Of course with a little more time in service or time in grade he might make a bit more, but I'm sure they could use all the help they could get.

Best wishes to the LT.

Sounds like something a jarhead would do... If you did it to me when I was a Butter Bar, You would have had a rude awakening... E-5 Buck Sargent prior to being a 2nd LT....

My 2LT pay with 3 years time in service was $768.00 in 1967

ROTFLMAO

**** a Butter Bar with a clue. Who'd a thunk it. I never saw one when I was active. :rotfl:
my 2nd LT had been an E5 or E6 before OCS - he wouldn't play that game either.

not that you'd mess around with him either...big dude too...about Mont's size :D
In my MOS field most of the E-5's and 6's went to Warrant Officer school. Now those were some cool dudes.

I passed out a few left handed salutes to a few butter bars and never had one notice. Of course I only messed with the very new ones. I wouldn't have tried to mess with a former enlisted guy. They already know all of the tricks. LOL

True...I didn't play much with the prior enlisteds for obvious reasons...they already knew the tricks.

I think I did look at the matrix wrong and picked up the pay for an O-1...my bust.

So...supergas...how big a boy are ya??? :D

Myself and another Marine got caught throwing the lefty salutes to our new outta school butter bar supply officer. The Company Gunny from our unit (6th Marine Expeditionary Brigade) tore us a new you know what....but he did laugh about it later after 2 million bazillion quadrillion diamond pushups.

Have to agree with Too Tall...a LT with a clue???Who da thunk it??? lmao.

We had a 2nd Lt lose a KYK-13 out in the field, once. A Master Guns walked into our Bn CO's office a week later swinging it his finger. I think the Lt actually cried. He was gone a month later. Thank God it was only a genser fill, he could have ended up much worse.
Your 1LT Friend will be fine on pay...he in the first place more than likely over two years of service and in addition to his base pay of around $3200 (Tax Free in a hazard duty zone to the first 80K) he will get with dependent quarters allowence and Basic allowance for subsistence, separation pay, and hazard pay. Will push him to well over 5000 a month tax free.

I was a spec4 before I recieved my commission through ROTC. When I was a young butter bar at Ft. Knox, a DI pulled that one on me in front of some trainees. I locked him up in front of the trainees and gave them a lesson in proper military etiquette. Every time I saw him after that he gave a crisp salute and a loud, "Good Morning Sir!"The beauty of it was, he didn't want to.

If you weren't grown up enough to do it right, you weren't grown up enough to wear chevrons.

First of all I would never do that in front of a bunch of trainees. Second of all it happened from time to time....just part of the culture and it was funny. Even the butter bars would laugh about it later as long as we gave them the proper respect. To include that supply officer I talked about.

But to make a comment like that really is a little overboard. I take that kinda personal when someone attacks me in that manner saying because of a little "kidding around" I wasn't grown up enough to wear my chevrons. Obviously, you do not know much about me.

Take a chill pill chunkn' charlie, I never made a personal attack directed to you...so back off bro...that was a shot across the bow. I'm man enough to take the high rode and let it go, but I definitely don't appreciate that comment.
