BWH - DO NOT USE FLOUR to try to put out any type of fire. Flour is very flammable if sprinkled on a fire, and will still burn when dumped on a hot fire.
Best bet is the extinguisher, then baking soda. As earlier suggested, keep the lid for the pan handy is dropping a lid on the pan will often smother the fire.
