Took my two boys (Jonathan and Doug) out Sunday to the Salvador Ridge area. They had two kings hooked up until both fish decided to dive under the boat from opposite sides. The boys were in the middle of the "cross-over-under-dance" when somehow during the crossover a 10" Dexter Russell filet knife accidently got pulled out of the knife holder on the transom and ended up sticking into the top of Jonathan's left foot. Doug let his fish go and pulled the knife out of his brother's foot (see pic with lots of blood on the decks). Although he was yelling some pretty colorful language Jonathan never let go of the king and landed him (notice hole in top of left foot in second pic). I pulled out the first aid kit and made quick work of disinfecting / bandaging the foot. Even though it went in about 1.5" the blade luckily missed major tendons, vessels and nerves and only needs a couple of stitches, tetnus shot and antibiotics. Things happen pretty fast when you're offshore and this all took place in a couple of seconds.

Thanks Jerry

Yessir. Those boys are 6th generation Texans / Houstonians and do make their mom and dad proud. We hoped to see you out there at Salvadore to check out some of those numbers you've been talking about . . . maybe next go round.
