If any of you guys run a 28 Prokat Center Console I am wondering how the boat rides and handles? How is the speed and range with 4-stroke outboards? I have a 26 Hydra Sport right now and am wanting to look at a cat for a smoother ride.

Howdy Ag. I looked at the PK really hard when I was cat shopping. The ProKat has a lot of positives. It will certainly ride better than your boat. Being a planing hull, they are fast and fuel efficient. I would expect 2+mpg on that boat with 4 strokes and 50-60mph WOT, depending on HP. They used to be cheaper than the competition (Glacier Bay and World Cat), but that could have changed. Test ride some different cats. They are all a little different, each with pluses and minuses. Do a search for "cat" or something similar on thehulltruth.com and you will find hours and hours of reading material.

3660 37' Pro-Kat

My brother and I own and just bought a 37' 3660sf Pro-Kat, Love the ride twin 250 Yamaha 4 strokes, We haven't had much fishing time yet. Just getting bottom paint and auto-pilot installed pick it back up friday.
We ordered it from Ron Hoover Marine, Jeff Bettice was our guy he took good care of us, I also have the reps name and number good guy as well.

i love my 28 ft prokat it is a 1997,with 2007 150 etecs on it . THE MILEAGE IS STILL BEING FIGURED OUT . I GOT 3 MILE A GALLON IN 2 -4 'S ABOUT A MONTH AGO . I HAVE NOT FILLED UP SINCE LAST SATURDAYS TRIP. E'TECS ARE 2 STROKES ALSO. THE RIDE IS NICE AND STABLE ,FISH CATCHING MACHINE. KAT'S ARE THE WAY TO GO.BEST THING ABOUT IT IS ITS PAID FOR !!!!
