I have a small carburated suzuki oil injected outboard that runs great unless you store it for more than a month or so without running. After that the carb.'s seem to gum up and it takes a good cleaning to run properly.

Is there anything you can do to properly store/prevent this other than disconnecting the oil injection and premixing? I try to run it every 3-4 weeks but can't always get to it. I usually run Stabil through every tank but that doesn't seem to do much for storage on the carb.'s.

I have been told, that what happens is the gas/oil mixture is what is clogging it.

The Gas evaporates leaving the oil to gum it up.

If you can not run it, keep the carbs filled, by pumping the bulb every week or two.

Call your local mechanic for the best advice, as I have seen some bad advice passed on here
