Is hunting quail in November in the Houston area a bad idea because they are still breeding or caring for young?

there are tons of quail in the houston area. i have one brittany and my best day last year was 7 coveys in a couple hours. a couple years ago i found over 10 coveys in one hunt.

last year i went dove hunting with some friends in a big crop field near rosenberg. there were no doves, but a good fence line. i said, "lets go walk that fence line with my dog and see if we find quail" They laughed with their doubts. we went over there and my dog pointed up 2 coveys on about a 1/2 mile of fence line.

Our quail suffered through the drought with little or no nesting success, but then later in the summer we got enough rains for them to get off some late successful hatches.

But they are mostly well past breeding or leading the young birds around. Don't hesitate to bag some.
