Well I told y'all about my son wrecking his stang, and we were looking for something to get him back and forth to work. Well my wife really made out in the solution we came up with this weekend.

We looked and looked but just could not find anything we felt would be dependable enough to get the boy to his job downtown and back. We were also planning on trading my wifes 96 Ranger in on her a new Sport Trac this fall, so we decided to take the money we had to buy a beater and put it down on the Wifes new truck.

We got to looking on Saturday, and she fell in love with an 03 F150 Sport. Though it was used, in has very low miles and came with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. Plus the deal we cut made in all work out.

Told her it was just wrong, her getting such a nice surprise for Father's Day.........LOL

We also made the boy understand that the ranger was not his, unless he bought it off of us. In the end I guess things all worked out.

Here is a pic of the wife with her new ride and a pic of our son's poor mustang.

Thank the Lord that he was not hurt.
Everytime I look at the car, I thank Him again for watching over our son. He must have something special in mind for the boy to let him come out of that wreck without a scratch. I just hope our son understands that as much as the wife and I.

You going to let her take that pretty new truck to Zavalla and get it all scratched up???
Most likely we will continue to take my old bruser that is already all scratched up and 4x4. I had to trim all the branches in the driveway at the house to make sure they don't scratch her paint so Zavalla is out of the question for Mom's red rod.....LOL.

Bountyhunter,
I think you got a great Father's Day gift with your son not being injured in the accident. I also think " MOM " is a pretty good negotiator with the deal she ended up with. Note: I've been hanging around Zavalla for over 30 years and one thing I know from experience is that anything showing up in town that is "RED " somebody will want to race....Just kidding of course..In any case sounds like everybody ended up happy.

All the best.

Insurance actually went down (not much) cause the truck replaced the Mustang and then my son got put prime on the Ranger and my wife prime on her baby. Her truck looks fast, but only has the V6, not that it doesn't have some go, its just not as much as the V8, but it does get better gas mileage. So we made out on that deal also.
