i have a buddy who just bought a honda vtx 1300c drove it for 70 miles and the oi light came on. he checked the dip stick and nothing! assuming the bike had been serviced correctly, it didn't smoke, ran well and wasn't noisy, what could be wrong?

Uhh, I would think it might need some more oil....lol

They drained part of the engine and the filter and did not allow for the filter when refilled. Or check it after filling and running. The bike showed good on the stand . Needed running on the stand then refill.

badhabit was right, it needed oil! dealer never bothered to service it before they sold it.
