Here is a true color image from yesterday. It really shows the location of the blue water rip out of Port Isabel quite well.

Also, we wanted to take a moment to highlight one of our features, the distance tool. For this tool, we utilize Microsoft Virtual Earth technology as a basis and believe it to be a very accurate tool. I highlighted, with an oval, on the image below the distance/bearing readout to the rip for this image. The red line is the distance measured.

However, as with all things there is usually a catch. Though we do our best to show you exactly where the rip is in an image, rips have a tendency to move with both the tide and wind. Therefore, do not be surprised to find a rips actual location a mile or two either side of where it is on any given recent image. Fortunately, for us along the Texas coast, rips do not move very fast (relative to the East and West coasts) and are usually easy to accurately track.

Please note that even though we do believe our information to be very accurate, we do caution that our service is not for navigational purposes. RipCharts is truly for informational purposes only.

As always, please let me know if I can answer any questions about our service.

Sounds good. He wasnt fishing the club tourny was he? We went to the Canyon, then pounded our way north then the afternoon, went back southwest going with the waves. Made for a nice ride home. We found a nice weed line about 40-45 out and trolled it on the way back in. Me and Bryan were watching the sounder and found some bait about 100' down. Started talking about how big it was then bam had a double knock down. Which reminds me we did get a BF too along with dolphin.

No he was just wanting to get out in blue water and see what offshore South Texas was all about! Blue water was 36 miles out and we where lucky in that a shrimper was out in 270 ft of water and just loaded with BF....nothing real big but alot of fun when all 7 lines went down with BF on! Since Ike I don't think we've had 1 day with SE winds! I think if we get a couple of days with the right winds and current we may see that blue water move futher inshore! May have a good October bite!
