It was my first time in the French Quarter and I survived!

Got down to New Orleans on an evening flight Friday and had a Category III Hurricane right off the bat. Birthday party in Pat O's was calling our name. Tried to do some trolling on Bourbon, but someone kept spilling the chum on the street! You'll never catch anything if you can't keep your chum in the water! LOL Had some rough seas on the trip back to the hotel, but we navigated back OK just in time to see the sun rise.

Went down to the river and found some mudbugs and oysters (Acme style) on Saturday. Saw some vampires that night in a club. Pretty interesting to say the least. Got back on the plane Sunday afternoon to see all the shrimp boats in the Gulf. Looked like a good day to be out in the water.

We'll be going back in a few months :)

Great town to party and eat, nasakid ... enjoyed your little "analogy"?

Make sure you update your GPS with coords for the My-Oh-My Club and My Father's Moustache (if they still even exist ... haven't been to Nawlins in years).

They have the prettiest "girls" working those clubs ... mark them as Navigational Hazards ... no place for trolling, if ya get my drift!

I used to work in downtown New Orleans and have eaten lunch at the Acme many, many times. Best oysters anywhere and watching the shuckers work is a real show. Those guys can shuck oysters faster than most people can shell peanuts. When you go back, go to Central Grocery in the quarter and get a Mufolatta sandwich. Any local can give you directions. That's where the mufolatta was invented and they still have the best one. Man I miss the food in New orleans. Only place I ever lived where the routine, everyday lunch was a gourmet experience.

Farmer Jim

We walked by the market and saw the muffaletta signs. We were on our way to Cafe Dumont for the little pastry thingies. My fiance' kept saying how good the muffalettas are there. I'll be sure to get one next time.

We didn't see any of the "ladies" out on the streets. They were all the real deal.

I did like my Hurricanes with a kick. I had them add pineapple juice to mine. It really gives them a different flavor that's less Kool-Aid in taste. Most of the people in our group were drinking the Mint Tulips. I didn't care for them.
