New regulations

It seems like we keep finding ways to punish the Texas offshore guides and party boats. My brothers and some friends come down for offshore fishing each year but it seems like it might be better to go to Mexico for better fishing and less obtrusive laws.

Don't know if this has been posted, if so my apologies

Recreational anglers must have a Texas fishing license and saltwater endorsement to bring any fish taken in federal waters ashore in Texas.

Just for those that might have a buddy that only fishes offshore.

This law will become effective September 1, 2007. It is being made a state law so that Texas anglers will not be required to obtain a Federal fishing license.

Just last week some guys from La I worked with came down to Sabine to fish OFFSHORE, I guess next yr I will have to get them to lv their vehicle on the La side of the causeway and drop them off first and then go back west a 1/2 mile to Texas. Now whats the law on bringing the fish to Tex via auto to clean.

La has had this same law for a while. FL does too. I'm not sure about MS and AL
