New Explorer TV21

In process of rigging out 2006 Explorer TV21/ 150 -4 stroke suzuki, and would like some imput on several items. Is anyone familiar with Garmin 178c or Hummingbird787C2, combo gps chartploter/ fishfinder, is so what is your suggestions? Second should trim tabs or whale tail be considered on this boat? Have spoke to corresponded with several on second subject, but would lke more input.

I haven't seen an Explorer without some kind of blaster on it. Tabs help, too. I use the fixed tabs that double as a step to help get into the boat.

For electronics, contact JTBURF on this board. I couldn't beat his prices. I run the Garmin 192C GPS and Raymarine DS600 depth finder...the combo units are fine if they have 12" screens...just too much info for 5" of screen.
