I was watching the texas news channel and they commented about how the new homes withstood the hurricane. Is this really the case for any that have been able to see any of the damage? I know the newer codes have really been stringent with respect to wind and hope the efforts are working.

The video they just showed had a bunch of older houses blown down, and new houses with what looks like very little damage going to SLP.

that video is what spurred my interested. Those hurricane clips and shear wall bracing seems to work pretty well.
