Ok, we broke the axle on our boat trailer a few weeks ago and have since replaced it and the leaf springs. My question is what, if anything, can we put on the axle to prevent it from rusting. It is galvanized but the leafsprings are not as well as the mounting hardware. We were thinking of coating it with some kind of grease or maybe even spraying it with a light coat of oil. BTW, the boat sits on a lift so the trailer is in the water maybe 3 or 4 times a year. What do y'all do with yours.

I redid mine and it was suggested to coat the leafsprings with marine grease. I also sprayed them down with CorrosionX. Ordered the stainless bolting from McClain trailers.
