Nervous as heck!!!!

Hey ya'll....we are fixing to go down to the title company to close on our house. I am nervous as a cat covering up doo doo....not sure why...I'm just nervous. I have come a long way since my divorce, since my ex did everything she could to ruin me. My wonderful new bride has been by my side and stood by me through some tough times and I have worked my arse off to get where I am now.....and now I feel nervous as a **** in a weenie factory. I didn't feel this nervous when I bought my last house.

Please pray for us that everything goes ok!!!!

You're just worried about the severe writers cramp from signing & Initialing about 10,000 times. Aleve & icepaks will cure that in a week or so! :)

Best of luck & congrats.

Jeff

Best of luck to you Mike! And don't worry too much about being nervous. It will pass. For most of us our houses are the biggest single purchase we ever make. It is also a symbol of your putting the past behind you and your committment to your new life.

I'd have to say that if your ex tried to ruin you that she failed miserably. Looks like you got a good new wife and you are on top of your world. No. I think, after careful consideration, your ex was ruining your life before. Now she has given you the opportunity to have a wonderful new life and you are busy doing just that.

Perhaps you should send her a "Thank You" card. Congratulations and may you enjoy all the wonderful new things you have worked and waited for for so long!

don't forget about the 300 dollare copy fee the 150 dollar fax fee, 1.00 to the state 100 for home owner association change, homeowner ASSociation dues, 50.00 notary fee filing fees, tax fees etc etc etc sing here sign there initial there and there I need a check for 30,000 sign here if you understand that if your house falls down you are on your own. We just closed on a new house 2 weeks ago.
Mike, I have a feeling that what you are feeling is not nervousness. I would almost bet it is excitement as both can give you a case of the nerves. You deserve to be excited, because as you say you have worked very hard for this day. I am very proud for you and your family, and send you my best wishes and prays that there will be nothing but blue skys and tightlines in your future. Congrats my friend you have earned it!

Just have a pen with alot of ink. I guess I was nervous a bit when we got our first. Then, it got old...quick. Signing sheet after sheet of stuff you had no idea what was on it. You could've joined the Army and not known it.

I thought it was odd how the realtors showed up, too. I couldn't figure out what was in it for them. Duh...to get paid. That other realtor sure was nice til she got her check. Then her nose went up in the air like she was somebody...lol.
Mike,
Congratulations! My daughter just closed on her house Tuesday this week. Pretty exciting time for you also, but just remember one thing :

Take your check book ! ! !

All the best and report back .

Don't worry about the money.....the bank has lots of if. Congrats.

It is great that you are nervous, shows you care. Once you get settled in start thinking about your next house and the one after that. Being a home owner is one of the best ways to save for the future. Congradulations.
Yep, after you get through with all the signing they say, "Keep this pen as a token of our appreciation for your business." You get home and the dam thing is out of ink!!!

A big AMEN to Derek's post. He put it beautifully.

Many blessings to you and your wife in your new home.

I hope you'll make this promise to each other and to God as you walk through the door of your new home:

"As for me and my house [family], we will serve the Lord."
Congrats, Mike ... I hope you're all chilled out and comfy now. ;) Nothing feels as good as getting handed those key, huh?

I can't help but remember going off to 'Nam and hearing my dad say, "Hummmmphhhh, ya think combat's tough? Try staring a mortgage in tha eye for thurty years!"

Here's hoping the next 30 are full of wonderful memories.

Bob
Congrats. It only gets easier from here.
Just wanna say thanks for all the nice comments. I really appreciate ya'll. I think Derek was right about me being nervous/excited. It is the beginning of our new family together with our very own new memories to make. And WJ, my wife loves the idea of sending my ex a "Thank you" card. I really do think we will do that!!!

Its the day after closing and I am officially a home owner again. It was kinda funny cuz midway into signing the one gazillion papers everything became a blur, and like ya'll said I could've reenlisted in the service and not even known it.

The kids stayed home and started packing their rooms and little did we know that it would all be in the living room when we returned!!! Now do ya'll think they are excited or what?!!!

We have started moving and there doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel yet, but we'll get there.

As a general statement and not directing this to anyone here, but just as a generalization I wanted to say you can kick me and knock me down, and it may hurt, you may think you have ruined me, but I will overcome....and I refuse to stay down. Now I am at the top of my mountain screaming with joy over my victory. I am greatful, to my God, my Country, and my Family, which includes the 2Cool family.

Thanks again for the support and kind words. I'll miss ya'll at the fish fry cuz well, I'll be moving in my new house, and trying to get my pool in order for our 2cool party at my house!!!!!!!!!

Take care.

Mike
