I am in San Antonio, but I am considering having HotRod go get my boat at Surfside Marina tonight. IT is in the 2nd row drystack. Anyone else out there have there boat still there? They are not answering ...do you know if they are still there? Any other contact info for James,Santos or Dwayne?
THanks,
Eddie

My boat is still there also on the second rack. However if there is truly a 15 to 20 ft tidal surge that is not going to help. The boats on the bottom are going to float and bang around in there. I am going to try to get it in the morning. I am not sure the authorities are going to let you over the bridge.

Call surfside at 979-239-1151 and ask if you will be able to get in. I called this afternoon since I had to get down to SLP to batton down the hatches at the camp and they were very nice. They explained that a barricade would be put up at the bridge at 9pm Wed. night. I made it down and back before 8pm. I can tell you the PD was all over the place checking people and doing a good job. I'd call them and see before I went down there. Hope this helps.

I've got to say again that I was very impressed with the fellow I spoke with. He was courteous and professional.

I had called the Brazoria Co. Sheriff's dept. first and they told me I would not be allowed past the bridge. When I explained my situation, the lady got very nice and gave me the surfside #.

Just spoke with Dewayne and he said they might not have an operator to get the boats down off the rack. All boats are 2nd rack and up. Second rack is 15 ft. Hopefully we can get the gear out of the locker.

I have my boat at Bridge Harbor. Everything I've been told is the area is locked down. I know a couple of guys that went there yesterday evening and had a heck of a time getting in to get their boats (police). Considering I'm in a sling I'm out of luck. Getting other things ready just took to long. But as Hotrod said, that is what insurance is for. My stomach is still turning, thinking of what will happen to the Liquid A$$et (my boat).

spoke to Dewayne at 8:30 Thursday morning

All boats are 2nd and 3rd rack. They are assisting anyone who shows up this morning, but you will have to trailer your own boat as they will only be able to put it in the water for you due to the time it takes to sling a boat on a trailer. He said a few people are there now, but there is a police barricade at the bridge and he doesn't know if they will let anyone through or not. Most of the trailers that are stored there have already been moved inside. Sounds like they are doing everything you could hope for. The storage locker is the only thing they can't help with now.

Guess I'll just have to cross my fingers that everything will be okay.

Best of Luck Guys. This is a perfect example of why not to skimp on insurance. We moved WildSide to Beaumont and now they are under mandatory evac. You just never know.
