I have been "Internet" shopping for a boat for a few years and have finally decided to pull the trigger.
The boat that I have narrowed my search down to is the Nautic Star 231 coastal. The boat is pushed with a Yamaha 200hp 4 stroke.
What I mostly like about the boat is it's a hybrid between fishing and pleasure boat.
Do any of my fellow 2coolers have experience with this boat and/or brand? My last boat was a pontoon boat so this style is new to me. This boat is more of a fishing boat. Although, I'm wanting something I can take the family out for a day on the lake skiing n tubing when needed and something that I can take to the bay for a day of fishing too.
I'm currently working with Texas Marine (Conroe).
I'll take all the good and the bad you can give me.
Thanks!!!

As with any boat sea trial. Pick a nasty day to do it in also. Not the slick calm morning. A 1648 aluminum Jon boat rides real well in slick calm mornings. Pick a windy day and go eat up some chop.

I'm very interested to see opinions & advice. I'm slowly cyber-shopping also and really like what I see and read about the 231 coastal. Like you, I'm wanting a combo rig. Take some guys and go fish bays or lakes and take kids/grandkids to play on a lake.

I was within days of making my own post - asking if there was a boat comparable to the 231 coastal that I should consider.

PLEASE go buy it so you can tell me all about it!

I am glad this came up. We have been looking at the 211 Angler. I wondered how it rides in rough conditions and what other owners have thought about them. Just wish I could put a 200 on one.

We love the lay out on them as it fit's both momma's want's and my want's. We had a kenner CC and then sold it and bought a hurricane. Sold the hurricane a few months back. Beat the heck out of us. We will probably pull the trigger at the next oat show on the 211 Angler.
