Fished mustang surf this weekend. Rain finally let up enough so that it was not constant. Best time was Sunday evening about 7:30 till 9:00 water clear (a little sand in it) and calm ( but not flat). We caught whiting, ladyfish, and specs but only one keeper spec. Most on live shrimp but some on cut croaker nearly all in wade gut. One or two cutoffs from possible Spainish Macs.

Other times were slow except for whiting. Sunday morning there were so many stingrays in surf about 2mi north of Fishpass that I moved south to just north of Packery. They were small and in very shallow, about ankle deep water. I know they are in the surf and I catch a few each year but usually from past the 2nd bar. I would see 1 or 2 each time I waded in or out from casting a rod to set in holder. Don't recall seeing that many that shallow before at least in the surf.
