Do you use a mono leader for your too waters ? I had read that fluoro and braid sink so it sinks the head of your top water ?

I have one rod dedicated to topwater spooled with mono, easiest approach if you throw them often. Yes a little stretch when you have a yellow mouth on the other end can be good, in addition to the floating aspect. IMO braid's advantages such as sensitivity and strength are non factors when fishing tops if you keep your drag set appropriate.
