In case you haven't heard, Meacoms Old Pier in back in business. Ron Gentry, the new owner has big plans to extend the pier and make it into a cool place to fish. He is one nice guy who even did a little kayak fishing with us Sunday. Ask him to grill up some shark while you are there. The man can cook!! Stop by and visit him soon.
Bullredman (Jeff) and I fished there Sunday after attending the Get Together on Sat. We got a room at the Gulfway Motel and spent the weekend.
We caught all sizes of sharks, large sand trout, whiting, croaker and gaftop. A couple of guys were also catching crabs and HUGE shrimp.
Old Man Charlie caught a nice 40" Red on cut mullet.

Here are a few pics...

Heck, I can remember when you couldn't fish on it and it was 1/2mile long+- and was used to get gear via trucks to crewboats. Was 'Shorties longest pier' could be called shortest pier now. WW
