Majek Extreme 22' vs 25'

Really leaning strong towards an Extreme, I keep hearing that I won't be happy with a 22' and that I should go with the 25'. My thoughts are that coming from an Illusion a 22' will feel like a Cadillac. 95% of the time I'm fishing alone so I think a 25' will just be too much boat for me and the 22' would be a better fit. I know longer will always ride better but I'm just thinking of the additional cost of the bigger boat in fuel and storage fees. It doesn't hurt that I can find a really outfitted 22' 30k less than a comparable 25'. Anyone out there with a 22' Extreme that can tell me I'll be happy in it and that it does just fine?

I had a 22', and it was a fine boat...very fast, and shallow enough. I've fished out of a 25' and it was much more comfortable, and shallow enough. I'd buy the 22' again if I fished by myself a lot, wanted to go fast, and didn't have a bunch of rough stuff to deal with. The fit and finish was not my favorite, but it did fine. They are spendy.

For what it's worth, I bought an Imemsa w-25 and it's been great for me and my family and friends. Especially with my family, and it goes fast enough for me. Fun boat, shallow enough.

I have a 25 Xtreme. It is a great boat. The ride is amazing. Surprisingly shallow draft. I haven’t measured mine since I changed to Lithium batteries. But I’m guessing my draft is right at 12 inches now. They are not tippy like other big v-hulls.

I looked at a bunch of 22’ Xtremes before I bought my 25. The 22 is faster. Other than that, I don’t see an advantage to the 22.

Big fan of the 22 personally. The 25 is a whole lotta boat. For what we do in Galveston and POC, the 22’ is ideal for me. Sure it isn’t the best in rough water, but I’ll happily take a route to protect me from the super rough stuff out in the middle of the bay. It’s essentially a bass boat with a center console.

If you end up getting a 22’, know that trim tabs are a must.
