Looking at buying a Majek extreme 22 and would appreciate owners thoughts. Things like build quality, ride quality on choppy water, dry/wet ride, shallow running and just overall owner experience. Thanks!!

The Extreme is a dying model, main reason being there are flats boats that run 60 plus, with tons more storage, and the ability to run in 9 inches. Ride is fair, pretty wet boat, takes 2ft to jump up, but will haul tail. 5 years ago tourneys were loaded with Extremes, very few these days.

Love mine. Plenty of storage for my needs, haven’t gotten wet in mine yet, runs plenty fast, skinny for my liking, does well in chop, plenty of room for my wife and two kids (4 year old boy and 6 year old girl) on the bay or the lake. I’m not a tournament guy, or one who does anything out of the ordinary, I’m a simple guy and it does the job and then some for my family and I. Honestly can’t find something I dislike about it other than maybe a lean post backrest but I bought a removable one. Feel free to PM.

Likes-speed,built tough, handles decent chop for its size, looks good
Dislikes-Not enough storage, not big enough, they have 25’ boats that’ll run 60.Not much of a family boat but I didn’t use mine for that.

x2 pretty much what Majek11 said!

One thing I love about it the most is it's versatility. I'll admit, I'm a much bigger bass fisherman than a bay guy. But being 20 mins or less from the coast, we came to conclusion that it would be smarter to have a rig that does both. And it does exactly that, and it does it WELL! I can be on galveston bay on a Saturday after trout and reds, then Sunday be on Sam Rayburn up in a creek buzzing a rattle trap. And believe it or not, she just about keeps up with them loaded out Ranger Z521 bass boats! (Of course Ranger is on the slow side of bass boats... just an analogy.) It is an AWESOME machine for bass fishing, and obviously awsome on the bay too.

With that being said, back to the storage topic... Saltwater, I have no issue with storage... I carry 2 rods, a box of hard baits, a ziplock of plastics, and a box of hooks... No problem. Then of course wading belt, net, stringer, etc... I have no issue storing any of that at all....

The storage problem arises for me when BASS FISHING. When I'm carrying 12 different rods on the boat all rigged up for different stuff, boxes and boxes and boxes of hard baits, bags and bags and bags of plastics, spinner bait box, big terminal tackle box, THEN the storage issue starts to show... Having 6 rods sticking up on the side of the console then 4 in the rocket launchers can get in the way. Of course, there are rod holders under the gunnels that are great to store rods for towing.. But when I'm bass fishing, I like to have all my rods easily accessible (laid out on the deck on a bass boat.) So the only way for me to do that on the Extreme is to just leave them in the vertical rod holders.

I don't think it's wet. It's all about who is at the helm! Yes, they are fast for a center console, but I wouldn't say they "haul ***." Y'all probably haven't seen what a Bullet 20XD with a 300XS can do then :rotfl: :rotfl:

But the boat itself is great! It all depends on what you plan to use it for. If you want the ultimate bay and lake boat, then the Extreme is your only option

Love mine. Does what I need it to do. I would disagree that it’s a wet boat. Plenty of storage for me, but I don’t haul around a bunch of stuff. Plenty fast and gets a# shallow as I need.

Thanks for the replies! In looking at them I knew they were a little short on storage and I think there is ample room for fishing gear but I hadn't put a lot of thought into all the other things required such as lifejackets, throwable and such. I could see it being tight. For me that may be a good thing cause my boat tends to get full of stuff I never use. I'm still on the fence, I've never even rode in one but hope to soon. Most if not all that I've looked at have trim tabs and everybody always seems to talk about the advantages of having them on this boat. I've never had a boat with trim tabs so if someone has some time to kill I'd loved to be educated on the advantages and how/when to use them. Thanks again!

Owner since 2011. I like it, get the 25 if you can swing it unless you are a hardcore tournament guy.
Still one of the fastest hulls on the water, trim tabs help in planing more evenly/quickly and in rough water or leveling out the boat with unbalanced passengers or load, they aren't required but are nice.
Worst thing about the hull is probably the instability when static. Walking around it rocks on the keel pretty bad, and I've had a few people literally fall out of the boat when caught off guard by someone else moving across the boat too quick or a wave from a passing boat.
