I and a co-worker and my co-workers son fished several locales in the lower bay today. We left the dock about 6:00am and headed over to Causeway Bait Camp to purchase some live shrimp. After obtaining our live shrimp we headed to an area around Pelican Island where I have caught numerous redfish on past fishing trips. This trip it was not to be, we caught nothing. After about an hour or so we moved to another area where I have caught numerous specks on past trips. All the trout we caught today were dinks. After about an thirty minutes of catching dinks we moved across the bay to another area known for holding keeper size Redfish. As luck would have it on my very first cast I brought a twenty four inch redfish to the boat after a lengthy battle. That redfish went home with my co-worker. After catching that redfish we caucht numerous specks, but they were all undersize. We finally left for the dock around noon as it was getting unbearably hot. It was a good day on the water.
