Early saturday morning I plan to take my kayak on its maiden voyage. Any ideas where a newcomer should start at. I prefer to fish the Trinity bay, Anuhac area system since I live on the East Side of Houston. I am not opposed to going else where though. Thanks for any suggestions

Armand Bayou is a great place for a break in yak run. There's a nice park there, and a kayak launch area. It's on Bay Area Blvd, between Redbluff and Middlebrook Dr. You might also want to ask on Tom's board, http://texaskayakfisherman.com for some areas closer to you. There's lots of good folks over there, and lots of good yak info on his site.

Anahuac Park...

Go down the road on the penninsula past the boat ramps until you get almost to the end. There are several places to park nearby and slide your rig off into the water. Lot of folks wade that huge expanse of water but it is still prolly fresh from the Trinity River run-off.

God luck.
