Well with the weather being so hot the last few days I want to warn parents of small kids to make them wear shoes when they go outside. My son James, who is 15 months old walked outside yesterday around 3 p.m. on our white concrete sidewalk, he was there for only a few seconds to a minute, and due to the heat of the sidewalk he received severe second degree burns on the entire bottom part of his feet. I never would have guessed the sidewalk to be that hot, but will never make that assumption again. Growing up in texas we always knew the asphalt would get burning hot, but never thought that the concrete would be hot enough to burn. We feel horrible about what happened and are going to have to take him to Parkland Burn Hospital on Thursday for additional treatment. So please put shoes on those kiddos.

The youngin's especially if they haven't walked much don't have the thick soles most of us have on our feet. I know when I really go to town with a pumace stone on my feet it's like a blind man seeing! You can feel every nook and cranny in the floor. Poor little guy. I'm sure everything will turn out ok. Sorry you guys have to find out the hard way.
