Was able to plan an overnighter with seas 2ft or less and lets just say the weather man was wrong again, it was less than 1ft absolutely gorgeous. Ran 40 to 45 mph after clearing the jetty mess. Got out hit a few rigs and managed a few bottom fish, snappers, strwberry groups, an AJ and a few king. Well we got up at first daybreak and headed deeper only to cross a nice weed line with thousands of Chicken dolphin however nothing else really home so we catch our fill of them about 10 each and decide to work our way in towards fp. We stop at one of Rik J's spots only to find 2 boats already there so we work the outside and try to stay out of there way as they look to be King fishing. They both end up leaving and we drift the spot a couple of times with only a throw back snapper. However the next drift, we spot A nice Wahoo hanging just under the water. Well we start chumming bait to him and he does a trick or two with acrobatic underwater movements, however he doesn't want the baits with the hooks in them. I guess the water was so clear he could see them. We loose him and set up dreift again only to see him eat all the chum and laugh at the bait. Time to try the old hide the hook Tuna style. This drift same thing however he goes to my bait and eats and slides right past the hook, goes to my buddy's bait and eats and spits out, grabs another bait and sharply turns back to the bait he spit and swallows it. Well he swims for a minute and then starts to shake his head and Wham that is when the hook is set. He then begans to act as though something is wrong and he jets on the top of the water splashing water away like a skier going across the water, he does a complete circle around the boat not more than 20 yards away from the boat. 10 mins later I sink the Gaff in the head and hang on. Nice hoo on board. We pull back up and see two more hoos but would not even take the bait without hooks. We stop off at a few more rigs and hung out with some guys scuba diving that were reall cool. That looks like fun. I guess J. which is capt of the boat also thought so because he jigged up a Really Fat Ling that came up on the other side of the boat and when he tried to come around the boat the line got caught in the transducer, he hands me the rod because he has seen how big this ling was and decides to jump in to free the line. however he was unsuccessful, when he got it free it snapped. That was the second big ling est 60+ easy that we lost during the trip. enjoy the pics!

Great trip and a good report. Chickens that size on light tackle are a real hoot. BTW, you and that Hoo both are smiling in that pic :D .
