I was just wondering if I had to remove my fishfinder gps after every fishin trip. I have been taking it off but am worried I will forget to take it on a fishin trip one day. It has a cover for it and it is under a T-top. Just wondering b/c it came with the boat when I bought it and I never had one before. Dont want to have to replace it b/c I saw it at Academy and it aint cheap! (probably wouldnt anyway):eek:hwell: thanks

If it is in a secure location when stored I wouldn't worry about it. I would suggest putting some anti-corrosion electrical grease (a little goes a long way) to make sure none of the pins get corroded.

If it's with you it's harder for some a-hole to steal..mine stays in my boat bag when I'm not in my boat cause I would hate to shell out the dollars to buy a new one.

I'd suggest you just leave it on the boat if security isn't a big issue. Constantly working the connectors and transporting it can be more harmful than just leaving it connected up on the boat.
