I don't know how well it works but I would make sure it is the red label and not the green label. The green label Corr X would really gum up the works being that it is a heavy, thick oil. I use Break Free and never had a problem.

Break free works well for upland applications and we used it for years.. that is until 3 years ago when the gunsmith Ables ammo gave me some slip2000. This stuff will keep protect guns better than any other I've seen, especially ones used hunting in the bay. Check out their site, slip2000.com

If you hunt in the saltwater very much, I like to use corrosin X in the red and white can.
I would never hunt the salt marsh or bays without it. The first time I did a bay hunt I could see the rust forming on my gun barrel. Then friends clued me in to CorrosionX. Never, never hunt saltwater without wiping your gun down with it before and after.

some mag did a comprehensive study and CorrosionX came in last in preventing rust. WD-40 beat it. I think the product is way over hyped. I currently use Boeshield. Boeing developed it for the navy for metals in contact with salt water for long periods of time.
