I spent the greater part of today going through Hundreds of War Photos from our Sons....one of my fathers day gifts....

I have picked out a couple dozen for printing...so far

This is one of my favorites and I wanted to share it with you...
It was ear marked...."Special, For Dad"

What a beautiful little girl, you can see in her eyes she has probably witnessed things in her young life that most people only have nightmares about. If you feel it's appropriate, please share the story.

The little girl is fine....Our Guys built that small village a school in-between missions...Its his story and I'll ask him for more details...Our Texans did a lot of this....

I won't ever post any of the bad stuff....there is enough of that going around.....

I want to hug that little girl and bring her home with me. I can't help it, I just have a grandma's heart. I love ALL those little ones.

And then I see the pic of the old woman, and think "She must have looked just like that little girl at one time. Isn't the impact of life amazing?! What she must have experienced in her time!

Pardon my inference but that woman looks evil! It's just the tattoos resemble fangs outside her mouth that are creeping me out. (I apologize if I offend anyone. I don't mean to; plus I'm sure others will see the "fangs" as well.)

If the woman was Muslim, she'd know that the Bible forbids tattoos. (I have limited understanding of Islam but I do know they recognize the Bible and added to it with the Quoran....However, not all Iraqis are Sunnis or Shi'ites but have some Zorastrian-like Christians as well. I'd figure in a more strictly religious environment such a woman may heed the prohibition of tats? I dunno.

Maybe Chief Charlie can give a bit of background information on the subject. I'm interested to learn of this woman's history. Plus, did she ever fish in the marshes that Saddam is alleged to have drained?

I wanted to show contrast...War has a lot of contrast....

Those are some haunting photos, Charlie ... they show a lot of maturity and care for the people on the part of yours sons. I regret now that I didn't focus more on those kind of shots when I was in Viet Nam. You have a lot to be proud of my friend.
