Ok If any of you out there are in the business , I either need a transmission so I can change it myself or have the one I have rebuilt.

I have a 99 Dodge stratus ES pkg fully loaded with six cylander motor. This car has served us well but it is paid for so that is when things start to go wrong. The car drives fine just shifts hard when cold as soon as it warms up it just stays in second gear. I have to get it fixed as I can't afford 2 car notes right now.

Any help or advise or a general steer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I have procrastinated about getting it fixed because we have 2 other vehicles. The buffalo was my back up. wife has been driving my jeep. Well guess what?
I spun a rod bearing in thte Buffalo this morning. So now it's time to get off my ***** and get the car fixed.

It is likely just a sensor. I assumed you have checked the tranny fluid? ;)

I had a throttle position sensor go out once and it acted similar. Kept going into "limp home" mode where it would only give me 2nd gear.

Is the service engine light on? If so that tanz has a input and a out put sensor if one fails it will to the same thing. Have the tranz scanned that will tell you the problem. The sensor are less then 100$
