Finally I was able to down load some shots I took of Ike as it was headed too Galveston. Vickie and I had finished our prep for the storm and decided to try and drive to gal seawall for some shots. This was about 3-4 PM on friday. the drive over the bridge was quite interesting. The wind really was starting to blow and keeping the truck in 1 lane was a challenge. The water was so high that the arches of the train tressle next to the casueway had already gone underwater and the waves in the bay were starting to splash over the tracks. anyway these were taken at the intersection of Broadway and Seawall blvd. Notice the shop that is normaly up high and dry was already starting to flood.

Thanks for the memories Those are pretty awesome shots. I assume you turned around and left quite soon after these were taken. I hope never to see images like this again.

I wanted to keep going down the seawall, LOL. But 1) I was afraid I would pickup a nail in the tire (didnt even want to be changing a tire out there) And 2.) Vickie was having a panic attack and wanted to get the dodge out of H__l. So I left. Passed several LEOs and not one even looked at us, much less stopped us.
