Does anyone have first hand experience with this boat? Good or bad? I have researched The Hull Truth and all of those reviews seem to be positive. Boat is a 2000 model and would have same year model twin Johnson 150 Ocean Pros. thanks in advance.

I have a 2390 hydra sports vector, I LOVE IT, It has twin 150 ficht evenrudes its a 2001 model. It feels big for a 24 ft boat, has 176 gal. fuel tank, it gets about 1.5mpg +/=. I feel comfortable in it when the weather kicks up. The only thing I would like better is if it was a 33ft. lol

Thanks for the reply. What kind of speeds are you getting with the 150s? Do you feel twin 150s are enough? I saw another that I could possibly get into that had twin 175s for a little bit more but wasn't sure if it was worth it. From what I have seen, the boat has TONS of space which I like!
Sounds like I gotta' set up a sea trial! I am not sure how anything could be better than the Cat ride I had yesterday but the increase in space and gas with the HS can't be ignored!
Do you drydock your boat or have a permit to trailer it? Thanks again for the feedback.

I recently purchased a Vector 3300 w/trip 250 yamahas, I am still feeling the boat out but I really like it so far.

It is a well built heavy boat. with alot of storage and standard features that would normally be upgrades on most other boats.

I went from four strokes to two strokes so i am back to buying oil every trip and I dont like that, but I will get used to it.

Saw your boat on another post! WOW...what a sweet looking ride. Everything I am hearing is just confirming what my research has been telling me. A well made boat with tons of space! The only thing I am leery about are the motors. They only have 90hrs on them (2000 Johnson 150 Ocean Pro) but at this point, I don't know anything about the manufacturer or the reputation. They are carbed motors so I will be hauling oil as well, but so far that is the only 'negative" that I can identify. Thanks again for your feedback!

I am curious if this boat has a hour meter? or is it the owner estimation of hours used.

90 hours almost sounds to good to be true on a 4 year old boat.

I would call a marine mechanic and see if they can hook up a laptop to see the actual hours on the motors, I know you can do this with Yamaha motors but not sure about the johnson engines.

I had a 2000 Johnson 200hp ocean pro on a fishmaster that i purchased new and never had any problems.

I sold the boat to a friend two years ago and he has had zero problems from the motor.

like anything else if you dont perform routine maintenence its gonna have problems.

Exactly what I was thinking! Story I got was the guy bought the boat thinking he would fish and never did. Went out a few times a year on "booze cruises" with his buds. The agent listing the boat claims to know the guy and boat personally but don't they all!?!

Regarding checking the hours by computer, assuming this could be done with these motors, would a surveyor be able to do that? Or is a surveyor only concerned with the structural integrity of the hull?

Being a stealth pilot is one of the most labor intensive and time constrained types of flying that I know. We have very strict timing constraints: to be where you are supposed to be all the time, exactly on time, and that has to be monitored by the pilot. For example, during a bomb competition in training in the US, I dropped a weapon that landed 0.02 seconds from the desired time, and finished third!

I Would Bet He Cant, But A Couple Phone Calls To Marine Mechanics Will Answer Your Question.

AT A MINIMUM I WOULD THINK A TRUSTED MECHANIC COULD PULL PLUGS AND PERFORM A COMPRESSION TEST AND LOOK A FEW OTHER PLACES TO DETERMINE IF THE MOTORS LOOKS FRESH OR WORE OUT.

YOU CAN ALSO PROBABLY PULL UP MAINTENENCE RECORDS IF THE SELLER WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE HES HAD SERVICE/WARRANTY WORK PERFORMED.

2390 Vector

I own a 2001 2390 Vector with twin 175 fitchs. The boat is awsome, great ride. flat out two people and half a tank of gas I have run 57mph. Great boat!

Hydra sport

There was a 2390 Vector out of Matagorda named black hook. He recently upgraded to a 27' cat I think. I did talk to him about the boat and he had nothing but good things to say about it.
We are running a '95 2800SF Hydra sport, The Jolie Fisher. It is a pocket sport fisher with tuna tower and twin 250's. It is a very heavy boat, typical of Hydra sport (At least OMC models), and produces a very good ride.
