I have something to share and I need to get it off of my chest. I miss TTMB very much. This new place... this new personality... it is not what we were - what we have been. It is angry and ugly at times. It is arrogant. It is just unkind and intolerant. The occassional disagreement has become the daily norm. Why? What has changed? It's an election year. We have had election years before. Our differing views have never divided us so.
Where are CoolChange, Walkin' Jack, Reel Woman, *********, Vitamin Sea, Becky, Fishnut, Farmer Jim, Bassfreaks, ReelWork, Frauline, EZ ED, bg?? The list could go on and on. I suspect to a large extent, that these folks are fading away because there is just a nasty mood to the board most days. They are still around. They are just not posting like they were.
Gary tried to get this point across the other day and it just went right back downhill. Let's try to get some of that magic back that has developed this great group of anglers into a great group of friends.

Without Mont
We would all be scattered all over the place and may have never met eachother. Becuase of Mont, some very good folks have gathered together and have become life long friends. Without Mont and TTMB, the SCA would be a speck on the map. The beaches would allready be closed and we wouldnt even know about it. Because of TTMB, many of thousands of prayers have been sent and recieved. We have learned how to fish better. How NOT to set up a tent. Got interested in old hobbies again like playing live music, riding motorcycles and recently, RC.
The first time I logged onto TTMB, I was greeted by ReelWoman and Vern. Rusted Hooks. I felt very welcomed by them. I still havent met Vern yet though. The first guys I met from TTMB was at the beach. Coolchange, Walking Jack and MT Stringer. What a weekend. LMAO! Since then, I have met so many people that I could walk right by half of them and not remember them. Because of TTMB, I also learned about the CCCF. Another great group of folks who I hang out with alot. (allthough I missed the last get together) Duty calls.
But without Mont and TTMB, I wouldnt know yall.

Fishinchick, TTMB is still here. I read it everyday and post when I can. Yes sometimes there are threads that cause problems but this is the best site around. Due to my job and obligations to my wife, I have never been in a position to make a gathering and when people talk about the TTMB family its still solid. But, its like when you move into a new neighborhood, everything is great, things are smooth but sooner or later the neighborhood begins to change a little. Someone moves out and a new person moves in. It always falls to the original people to calm the waters and pull things back together and I feel that is the strengh of this board. I have never met Mont, or for that matter no one, but Mont does an excellent job with TTMB and should get a pat on the back. Thanks Mont.
By the way, I will make every effort to attend a gathering.

But the last couple of months have been real busy. Haven't had much to say unless you want a nightly report of what I did at work today! ROTF! Even Mary has quit asking.

A day of fishing, fun and frolic? Sounds like the perfect recipe for a gathering. With easy access to Trinity or East Bay, it should be perfect for the bay/wade fishermen/fishergals.
I'm working both weekends mentioned so far, but with a little notice, I should be able to burn a day of vacation.

Ain't seen you post a question like that in a long time, the surf has been perfect alot lately but still no Jan.... Gee, they lock out the computer at work, so i was only checking in every few days from home, (nothing like a professional lurker), then i went on vacation for two weeks, (unfortunately to the beach on lake michigan instead of the gulf of mexico), as soon as i got back, a good friend asked me if i had been keeping up with what was going on at 2cool, and nope i hadn't. He just got back to the board after almost a 9 month absence, (but thats ok, it'll be a few years before QBALL Jr can replace me as a fishing partner). Anyway, being 2-3 hours from the coast I get my fix from everyone on here. I agree with those that say this will pass. I missed the board while I was gone and I'm glad to be back lurking.

Anyway, if any of y'all need anything while in the Brenham area, just let judweiser,(jeep) or QBALL know, we would be happy to help. And one of these days, we will make it to a gathering.
