Anyone have any info on my old fishing hole? Im curious to know if there's anything left of the Galveston Fishing Pier?

From what I hear, all the piers in Galveston are gone. Gonna take a lot of time to rebuild that city and even longer before they start working on piers and recreational stuff probably.

I saw the peir (or what is left of it) on the news. The only reason I knew it was the peir was the stilts that were left and at the end was the "T" head.

Nobody will be doing any peir fishing for a very long time in Galveston.

To anybody who has property, a house or family down there I am sorry and I hope and pray relief comes quickly to you all.

91st pier lower section to the T-head is gone. The pilings are gone also so I doubt they will be allowed to rebuild. It looked like the upper section still had pilings so hopefully they will rebuild.

Did the Flagship make it through or is it destroyed as well? I know the seashell shops flanking it were pretty much hammered, Geraldo was standing in front of them friday afternoon/evening quite a bit.

flagship hotel is still up but the ramp to get to it is gone.

3 people rode out the storm on 91st pier. The first floor was wiped out but they survived by going up to the second floor, had to be rescued Sat. by helicopter. Looked to me like the flagship T-head is gone. The rock groins are in good shape

That's amazing, I thought for sure it would be gone too. glad to hear at least some landmarks made it through. I saw pics to the Strand on friday evening that showed it already had 3-4 ft. of water. Did any of the historical buildings get destroyed? It would be a shame if that history was lost.
