Houston radio has been awful for a looooooong time. For one of the biggest cities in the country, you'd think we could get some decent music. The country stations are really bad unless you are a teenage girl. They play the same whiney, poppy "country" songs on loop. The classic rock station is pretty much on loop too.

Ya' know it's lame when you hear the same overplayed Led Zeppelin song everyday within 5 minutes either side of 2 PM on 107.5 and it's been that way for years !

Yeah, for all the trash talk 1560 used to do to the other stations for being corporate piles of dung, they sure piled their own heap as well. 1560 was dead in the water the day they signed on with YSR, which caused Lance to move to 790. With the recent changes, the carcass finally quit twitching.

It is and has been terrible for years. KLOL in the Bob Ford and Crash era was the way to go. That's why I have had to pay XM since 2004!!!! Anyone remember the days they only played a complete album side at a time?

99.7 KSTAR is really good. They play a variety of country ~ the oldies, modern and Texas. And definitely 105.3 ~ all Texas country. Also 97.1 ~ the oldie but goodie country songs.

Bingo! If i'm not listening to Sirius then this is what I have on. the only problem is the weak signal

there is another app I haven't seen mentioned on here called Tune In Radio
similar to iheart radio for non clear channel stations

and you can get 105.3 anywhere you go
also 94.7 badlands FM Texas mix from corpus

Houston Radio is the worst. They play the same **** songs on every station nothing even sounds different any more everything has that crappy pop flavor.

Thanks to the FCC for allowing Clear Channel to pretty much own the entire radio spectrum over Houston. Good thing the internet radio has made so much progress.

I hunt up near Corsicana. They have a radio station up there 106.9 The Ranch that plays nothing but Texas Country. Most of it what you'd hear in bars and honky tonks. They played Pat Green before anyone else even knew of him. It's awesome. They have an app out now. So, I fire it up, and sync with my truck radio, and I can listen here.
