My wife and I will be at HI Saturday. This will be both of our first time to ever surf fish or even saltwater fish really. We've been to one of the piers once about 3 years ago. Hope to meet some of you and maybe get some pointers. We don't exactly know where to go on the beach. Can some give advice. Also, the kids have things in the morning so we won't make it until around 4m. Is this too late? I say better late than never. But can I still catch some bait at this time? We will be in a gold GMC ext pickup, driving back and forth looking for a spot. The wife enjoys catfishing on the lake with me so I thought this would be fun for the two of us to try out. If she doesn't like it then next time will be me and the kids. We got a sitter for all the kids, so we get som time together. We will probably stay till around mid-night. What do you think?

camping at HI this weekend

I'll be at the galveston t-pier friday night and will be on HI around 5:00 a.m. Saturday will stay till Sunday afternoon. I'll probably set-up camp 1/2 mile east of the barricades. I'll be trying to catch fresh bait early in the morning, set-up the big rods and target specks in the surf. Girlfriend and her 8yr-old nephew (who is extremely excited) are coming down saturday. Just look for a camp-site w/silver camaro & hopefully an 8-yr old reeling in a biggun. "I believe in memories lasting a lifetime.."

BTW, it's suppose to be a prime fishing weekend.

hope to meet some of you all out there, Rodney
