I don't mean to diminish the situation going on in Galveston. We all feel for the many public and private losses that occurred during Ike. I am trying to find info about the slip availability in the yacht basin. I know there is a lot of damage but I would suspect that the actual slips would be some of the first to be cleaned up and ready for use. I have tried calling numerous times but, understandably so, get a busy signal.

Does anyone know what they are doing if and when the slips come available. I am sure there will be many folks with losses that wont return. Pre Ike, they did not have any sort of waiting list so I would call every week to see if anything came available but no luck. With Ike's damage and losses, does anyone have any info on how they plan to fill them up when they are finally ready?

I would greatly appreciate any info. If there is any sort of list, sign me up.

I am a member and have/had a boat there, From what i hear, the yacht basin may be closed for an extended period. As per insurance surveyor we talked to and another member. You will have to speak direct to Eddie Barr. I may be able to see him this week, if he is down there when i am. I will get correct information. Would not want to state anything i do not know for sure.At this point some of us are talking about volunteering on the clean up. But we are talking major work and time. Its been suggested that (IF) our boats make it we may have to find other dockage. Pm me with your number and i will keep you posted.Right now everyones safety and loss is in our prayers and the main thing.
