Does anyone else on here own a 25' Variside or know anything about one? I recently spoke with and took mine back to the original manufacturers, Mr. & Mrs. Gilley, and they filled me in so much on my boat. It has quite the history for being 12 yrs old. And as 4th owner of it. I'm proud to say I own one of the only 52 in existence. And proud to say mine was lucky number 7 built..

Yeah they were not too happy with the the gentlemen they sold Gulf Coast too. And they absolutely love the 25' Variside. They called it the Barge of the Bay because it's so wide and long. And it surprised me when they walked out to look at mine. Because it was having some issues hull wise. But she took one look and immediately remembered the boat and the previous owners and everything they had to do with it

Well I'm 25 yrs old. And went through a breakup with a girl I was with for 3-4 yrs and me and her dad always fished together. Well after the break up her dad wouldn't take me fishing anymore which was strange she left me. But regardless. I went looking for a boat and found the Gulf Coast. So I purchased it back in February. Put a brand new motor on it right away. Figured why not while I was spending the money. And now. The boat fishes mostly 5-35 miles offshore but does it's fair bit of bay fishing too. Talking with the owners it was originally designed to fish 5-10 offshore and the bay. So I'm completely satisfied with the boat

Oh yeah. Greatest trade out I ever made. Best part is her old man used to be a guide so I learned a lot about east and west matagorda bay and how to fish and when to fish and all the "secret" spots. So whenever I put my sled in the water. I can almost go directly to the fish everytime.. "Knock on wood"

There's a "why buy the cow when you get the milk for free" joke there somewhere.
