I usually fish Galveston and Bolivar but i am in Corpus for a conference and was wondering if the surf on the Gulf Beachfront near bob hall pier is a good place to set out my big beach rods?

If not, and to risk sounding like a pot licker, where would you guys from around here try for a big rod?

Shouldn't be a problem around The Strand, if not you may need to hit the Montrose area.

lol, sorry but that one doesnt qualify as a "big" rod, For me a t least.....

LOL<, I know Major...but I could not resist. Most of my friends like to put their surf rods out in either Boliver/High Island or south in Surf Side.

Hit the beach about 5pm soaked cut mullet and menhaden on 2 rods till dark without a run, Beach was beautiful, little weed until just before dark when it slightly thickened but was still fishable, Found some bait in the surf about 500 yards on the corpus side of bob hall pier, Wish I had my trout rods instead of my big rods but the day was awsome, Sat in the sun soakin rods watching the kids soak in some saltwater, the water was better than i would have expected after all the rain. May try PINS tomarrow, either way i get to spend it with the wife and kids and thats all that matters, but i would like to get my daughter hooked up with a good fish soon.
