I have gigged on a full moon. Legate and others think I'm crazy but, I don't think it is a problem as long as you keep the moon in front of you. Or at least don't walk between the moon and the flounder. My theory is that the fish can see the moon, and, if suddenly it is gone, it will spook. When we are walking, I always have the lantern in front of me. I can walk right up on a flounder and it will not spook. Now put the lantern behind you and see what happens...

What baitkiller said. Your lantern is brighter than the moon and as long as you have it in front of you where it belongs the flounder won't spook.

On a side note, I've always had better luck while floundering when there was not a bright moon and on an incoming or slack tide.
