My wife and I are in New Orleans and we are planning on coming back tomorrow and want to see if there is enough interest in us bringing back some generators and AC units from New Orleans. We drove to New Orleans in our Corolla but I have it set up to tow and would be willing to rent a 4x8 enclosed Uhaul trailer to tow back if there is enough interest. Small window units, 5050 BTU, at Walmart in NO are running $109 plus tax and we can purchase generators and bring them back and will sell them at cost. I am not sure how many generators we will be able to locate and I will definetly be bringing one back for myself. Space is limited obviously and you really need to be serious about what you request for us to bring back. We are on a tight budget and will only have a couple of thousand on the Discover card as far as spending goes so the number of generators will be limited but we want to be able to get supplies to you guys and gals if you want it. I do not know how much generators will be but if you send me your number I can call tomorrow when we go to Lowes and tell you how much they are and confirm your purchase. Everything will be purchased on a seperate ticket and you absolutely must pay for whatever you take with you up front. We want to help but are really finacially restricted right now so we won't be able to give stuff out on a loan or partial payment. We will check out of our hotel tomorrow at 11:00 AM and will be making our decision on whether to rent a trailer based on the response to this post. We live in Dickinson and cannot deliver so you must be willing to pick up. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow but want to help.

Did you find any generators if yes how much?

When I called Lowes yesterday I believe they had a couple of generators that ranged from around $550 up to $780. Most of these were in the 5000 watt range. I did not ask about any smaller generators which I would assume would be cheaper. If you are interested I can give you a call when we go after we check out from the hotel around 11:00 am just PM me your contact number. I will try and haggle with the sales associate to see if I can get a better price. Anything I buy will have its own receipt so you will just pay cost.

I will probably pick up one extra generator when I go today unless there is a lot of interest pretty soon since I am running out of time at the hotel. I will pick up some extra small AC units though and will have those available when I get back.

OK this is my last post before we get on the road. I am going to pick up 4 generators and about 10 AC units. I have some stuff already allocated to specific individuals so not everything is going to be available. I have one generator left from the four that I picked up. A family member that had spoken for one of them got electricity before I even made it back to Texas. I was able to get the Troy-Bilt 5500 for $682.15, includes tax, which is exactly what I will sell it for if you are interested. When I made the purchase I spoke with the manager and he gave me 10% off which is why the generator is cheaper than the rest being sold. This is brand new in the box and will come with the receipt. If no one is interested I will go ahead and return it to the Lowes but I wanted to give some 2coolers a chance at getting a deal.

All of the AC units that I picked up have been sold. Glad I was able to help and hopefully everyone is doing well.
